What is Allergic Rhinitis? - June 2010

Allergic Rhinitis is an inflammation of the mucus membranes of the nose/upper respiratory tract, and is induced by a variety of substances known as allergens.

Seasonal allergens include tree, grass, and ragweed pollens. Perennial allergens include dust, dust mites, cockroaches, cats and dogs.

If you have allergies, these allergens will cause sneezing; itchy nose, roof of the mouth, throat, eyes and ears; runny nose; congestion; and watery eyes.

Diagnosis can be made by an allergy doctor who performs a clinical history and allergy skin testing.

An allergy doctor can treat an allergy victim through Allergen Avoidance, Allergy Medications, and Immunotherapy.

If you or your child may be suffering from allergies, please call us at any of our 4 locations listed below. We are here to help you.
