Clinic provides asthma training
to Virginia Beach
PE Teachers & Nurses

A community partnership between Virginia Beach City Public Schools and Allergy & Asthma Specialists is helping educate PE Teachers and nurses at all grade levels about Exercise Induced Asthma and mimic Exercise Induced Asthma.

The in-service training consisted of six seminars at various Virginia Beach public schools from August – October 2011.

The seminars were conducted by Drs. Craig Koenig, Gary Moss and Gregory Pendell.

Our physicians are specifically trained to treat allergic rhinitis (hay fever), asthma,and other allergy-related diseases. This requires 3 years of training and Board Certification in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine, plus a 2 year Fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology & Board Certification by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

To keep up with all of the advances in the field of allergy, all of the physicians in our group belong to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the Virginia Allergy Society,and other state national, and international medical organizations.

	Dr. Gary B. Moss grew up in Norfolk, Virginia and attended Norfolk Academy. He received a BA in Biology from the University of Chicago and an MS in Human Physiology from Georgetown University.
	Dr. Craig Koenig was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received a BS in Biological Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
	Dr. Greg Pendell was raised in Midland, Michigan. He received his BS from Michigan State University and received his MD from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
	Lisa Deafenbaugh, PA-C grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Kempsville High School. She received her BA in literature from the University of Virginia and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School.
